Abstract
BACKGROUND: infertility is a multifactorial phenomenon, with higher prevalence in women, this pathological condition prevents achieving gestation after 12 months of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: to describe the radiological findings of Hysterosalpingography (HSG) in patients with infertility attended at José Carrasco Arteaga Hospital during the period 2015- 2020. METHODS: observational and cross-sectional study. We reviewed 310 clinical records of patients with a diagnosis of infertility who underwent HSG. The information was collected in a data form; descriptive statistics were applied for the analysis. RESULTS: 83.5% of patients had age ranges between 21 and 39 years and 83.5% resided in urban areas. It was observed that 7 out of 10 women had secondary infertility; tubal pathology showed a prevalence of 31.3%. Polycystic ovary syndrome was the most relevant antecedent with 20.3%, followed by abdomino-pelvic surgeries. According to the HSG findings, in the uterine cavity, irregular uterine contours stood out in 5.2 and filling defects in 3.9; in the fallopian tubes, non-permeability to the peritoneal cavity and difficulty in filling were most frequently identified in 14.2 and 2.6, respectively.
