Resumen

La lipoidoproteinosis (LP) es una genodermatosis rara, de herencia autosómica recesiva, que se caracteriza por el depósito de un material hialino eosinófilo PAS positivo, diastasa resistente a nivel de la piel, mucosas y órganos internos; de la cual existen aproximadamente 300 - 500 casos publicados en la literatura. Aunque su pronóstico es generalmente benigno y no se ha informado de una correlación entre el aumento de la incidencia de cáncer y la LP; la expresión de proteína de matriz extracelular-1 (ECM1) se ha vinculado con aspectos de malignidad, encontrándose precisamente en el gen que codifica esta proteína la alteración genética que origina la LP. Se presenta un caso de cáncer de cuello uterino en paciente con esta rara condición.
